Cultural Catholic Music Hits School Halls in Multicultural Choral Concert
ARLINGTON, Va. – April 25, 2015 – 7 p.m. — The Office of Multicultural Ministries is proud to join Bishop Ireton High School and its student body to present cultural sounds through Catholic music. Join us for the unique and magnificent performances of our diocesan Multicultural Catholic Choirs!
This concert is free and open to the public. A free-will donation will be accepted to continue the support of Bishop Ireton’s sister school, the Louverture Cleary School, in Haiti.
Seven choirs will present an Easter song representing a few of the many cultures that make up our diocese, including but not limited to the Filipino, Vietnamese, Ghanaian, Hispanic, African and Korean communities. These diverse choirs will sing songs both in English and in their native tongues, or in languages relevant to their cultural identity.
“What a unique way to experience our shared faith through the cultural sounds of Catholic music,” said Corinne Monogue, Director of the Office of Multicultural Ministries. “This concert provides an opportunity to deepen your spirituality through the musical expression of countries from around the world.”
Each cultural community will present their selection of music through the lens of their history and Catholic faith.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Bishop Ireton High School, 201 Cambridge Rd., Alexandria, VA 22301.
